Single-Mode Pump Lasers
Modulight’s single-mode pump lasers combine efficient fiber coupling, wavelength stability, and high optical performance for fiber laser and fiber amplifier applications. Our portfolio covers key pump wavelengths from the 9xx to 14xx nm bands, such as 976 nm and 1480 nm, with solutions based on Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) and Distributed Bragg Reflector (DBR) technologies, as well as configurations without wavelength stabilization. Fiber-coupled solutions are available in different power levels and package configurations, supporting applications such as pumping rare-earth-doped optical fibers, telecommunications, quantum technologies, sensing, and industrial applications.
At Modulight, we develop and manufacture high-performance single-mode pump laser modules with precise wavelength control, outstanding reliability, and flexible integration options. Leveraging our vertically integrated semiconductor laser technology, our pump lasers can be tailored to meet demanding OEM and research requirements.
What Are Single-Mode Pump Lasers?
Single-mode pump lasers generate light in a single spatial mode, allowing efficient coupling into single-mode optical fibers.
Key considerations when selecting a single-mode pump laser include:
- Pump wavelength
- Optical output power
- Wavelength stability
- Fiber coupling and mode field diameter
- Package and integration requirements
Applications
Fiber Amplifiers
Pump lasers efficiently excite erbium-, ytterbium-, thulium-, or other rare-earth-doped fibers used in optical amplifiers for telecommunications, spectroscopy, and scientific instrumentation.
Fiber Lasers
Single-mode pumps provide the optical energy required for compact fiber laser architectures used in research, metrology, and precision manufacturing.
Quantum Technologies
Quantum systems often require exceptionally stable pump sources for generating or amplifying coherent optical signals. Stable wavelength and low noise are essential for quantum optics experiments and photonic quantum computing.
LiDAR and Remote Sensing
Fiber-based LiDAR systems rely on stable pump lasers to drive fiber amplifiers and pulsed laser sources with high efficiency and repeatability.
Optical Sensing
Distributed sensing, interferometry, fiber optic gyroscopes, and precision measurement systems benefit from low-noise pump sources with excellent wavelength stability.
Scientific Instrumentation
Pump lasers support numerous laboratory systems including spectroscopy, nonlinear optics, microscopy, and ultrafast laser systems.
Laser solutions for pumping, seeding, and system integration
In addition to single-mode pump lasers, Modulight offers multimode pump lasers, single-frequency seed sources, and integrated optical subsystems for fiber laser and amplifier applications.

Single-mode pumps
