Description
The ML6710i is a cloud-connected ophthalmic laser platform designed for photodynamic therapy (PDT) and other laser-based treatments in ophthalmology. The system is specifically designed for retinal treatments and combines precise laser delivery with an intuitive, wireless user interface and integrated treatment data management.
The standard ML6710i configuration incorporates a 689 nm laser with 400 mW output power, matched to the absorption characteristics of Verteporfin. The laser output is coupled to the Modulight Laser Beam Shaper, which produces a circular, highly uniform treatment spot. The spot diameter can be adjusted, enabling efficient and homogeneous illumination of the target area. The beam shaping unit can be attached to commonly used ophthalmic slit lamps, and the ML6710i can also be supplied as a complete treatment station including the laser, iPad, beam shaping unit, instrument table and slit lamp.
Treatment parameters are configured and controlled through an iPad application. The wireless interface provides flexibility in the treatment setup while keeping operation straightforward for clinical use. Laser emission can be enabled or paused using a foot switch, while a key switch and interlock provide additional laser safety functions. A separate 635 nm Class 2 aiming beam assists with treatment positioning.
ML6710i is connected to Modulight Cloud, enabling secure storage of treatment parameters and laser operating events in a treatment log without exposing patient data. The recorded information can support treatment documentation, analytics and regulatory requirements, as well as post-treatment review.
ML6710i is designed for retinal PDT applications including neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD), central serous retinopathy (CSR), and polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV).
