493 nm single-frequency VECSEL laser for Ba⁺ ion Doppler cooling, offering narrow linewidth, low intensity noise and high beam quality for trapped-ion quantum computing.
Description
The ML6607 is a 493 nm single-frequency VECSEL laser system designed for Ba⁺ ion Doppler cooling in trapped-ion quantum computing applications. Based on Modulight’s in-house VECSEL technology and frequency-doubled architecture, it combines narrow linewidth, low intensity noise and high beam quality for demanding quantum applications.
The ML6607 provides up to 500 mW of free-space optical output power or 300 mW in a fiber-coupled configuration. It operates in CW mode with a free-running linewidth below 1 MHz and a stabilized linewidth of 1–100 kHz. The laser provides a 10 GHz mode-hop-free tuning range, less than 1% peak-to-peak power stability, and a TEM00 beam with beam quality below 1.2 M².
The system can be operated as a stand-alone laser using a PC GUI or integrated into OEM systems. The output is available as a free-space beam or can be coupled into single-mode or polarization-maintaining fiber.
