Exciting events ahead – Happy Mothers' Day!

In this newsletter we’ll cover some of the exciting things happening at Modulight in the near future. Firstly we welcome all of you to meet us at BMLA (Darlington, UK), ASP (Tampa, FL), and the Finnish workshop for Pulmonary tests and procedures (Tampere) within the next month or so. We’re also announcing the winner of the most versatile medical laser – Rising Star competition, as well as discuss the exciting recent developments of biomedical illumination systems.

Rising Star Contest
As announced earlier we’re awarding the most promising young researcher a free of charge laser to support her/his PDT research. The independent board has now carefully reviewed all the applications and winner has been identified. Ms. Ulla Haapanen, Modulight and Prof. Colin Hopper will do the honors of formally announcing the winner at BMLA during one of the scientific sessions. Foreword to the announcement: ”We’re extremely happy to announce the winner for the rising star competition”, says Dr. Petteri Uusimaa, President & CEO, Modulight and continues : ”We believe that next phase of PDT is about to start and that requires many clinicians to join in and PDT to become just another tool among other treatment modalities in oncology”.
ASP Conference and Finnish workshop for Pulmonary tests and procedures
Rising Star Contest
Immediately after BMLA our team is at ASP (American Society for Photobiology) conference in Florida. The biomedical illumination system ML8500 will be demoed there due to multiple requests to bring it over. We’re also proudly participating to the Finnish workshop for Pulmonary tests and procedures. We expect participants will have a chance to hear some promising results made with ML7710 for Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). Modulight will also be hosting an invite-only executive breakfast in Helsinki in mid-June around personalized medicine. Feel free to contact Ms. Kati Reiman for inquiries.

We’re seeing new business
During the recent months we’ve seen good interest from ophthalmology. While we’ve not really approached the scene it appears that many see us. I guess we can say – we’re looking forward to what comes our way.
