PerkinElmer,
world-wide known designer and manufacturer of leading scientific
solutions for evolving health, safety and environmental quality
needs, has trusted Modulight
to develop a highly integrated laser solution for their EnSpire
2300 Multilabel Plate Reader. The EnSpire Multilabel Plate
Reader is a compact plate reader platform for fluorescence,
absorbance and AlphaScreen assays based on quad monochromator
technology designed for laboratories. EnSpire AlphaPLUS model
uses Modulight's
visible laser module for sample excitation.
Business
challenge
PerkinElmer
approached Modulight
already in the early phase of their own product development
process requesting design and manufacturing services for a
cost efficient laser sub-system for their new product. Target
was to find a solution that has the lowest lifecycle cost,
is scalable to high volumes, and also easily transferable
to possible system integration at a 3rd party manufacturing
service provider.
Technology
solution
Modulight ended up offering a highly integrated laser
sub-system including electronics and mechanical assembly
along with pigtailed laser module that could be easily integrated
into PerkinElmer system through industry standard connectors.
Business
results
Modulight module was successfully integrated to customer's
system and the new solution is already in use in production.
This was the second successful laser
solution provided by Modulight
to PerkinElmer
in the last two years.
